Want to know a secret? My wardrobe options have been very limited lately, which has played a big reason in myself finding other genres to share on The Mod Little Melanin. Many of my clothes are tucked away in a storage unit, as I prepare to move in a few months, so I've had to get creative with my looks! For me, that means a lot of searching for inspiration on Pinterest and Instagram. One of the biggest things I've learned from Pinterest is that the right piece of outerwear can take an outfit from drab to fab! Many of the tops I currently have (simply what I managed to cram into my suitcase when I moved in a hurry) are solid shirts. Turtlenecks, long sleeve shirts, short sleeve shirts, and chambray tops that are in neutral tones of white, black and tan. In the winter months, I usually style them a faux fur jacket, but in the early weeks of Spring, I prefer a lightweight vegan leather jacket. I found this piece at Forever 21 for less than $25! This patent leather piece is breathable, and comfy despite how it may look in photographs. The only drawback from this patent leather jacket is that it runs small! I'm wearing a large, but it is still incredibly snug in the arms and through the back. I choose to finish off the look with a pair of high-waisted jeans from H&M, and a solid, zip down top from H&M that I only purchased for only $1.00.
My boots are from Charlotte Russe! Have you checked out their going out of business sale? Shop in stores at Charlotte Russe to purchase your favorite pieces for up to 50% off the sale price! All sales are final! - Chelsea Nicole, The Mod Little Melanin
