It's my first ever DIY on The Mod Little Melanin! If you know me personally, you know I've been making and designing my own floral crown headbands long before the filter was popular on Snapchat. Floral headbands are a great boho accessory for summer, so I decided to add a floral crown to a cowgirl hat to create the ultimate boho look! All of the products used to create this hat are from the Dollar Tree. I purchased a straw cowgirl hat and two bouquets of faux sunflowers from the Dollar Tree for only $3.00. You'll also need a glue gun that can be purchased from Walmart. This DIY is super simple, however, I recommend you think of how you want to design your hat before beginning to glue down the flowers. Start by cutting the flower off of the green stem, leaving as little stem as possible. Next, remove the green circular piece at the top of the stem that helps hold the flower to the stem. Add a drop of glue using a hot glue gun and firmly press the flower to your hat. I held each flower for about thirty seconds. Continue until you have created the pattern/design for your hat. When you are finished, allow your hat to dry and you have a cool boho accessory! The hat I created is perfect for summer. It can be worn with a variety of looks including sundresses, rompers, or a cute short outfit. Want to see more DIYs on The Mod Little Melanin? Leave a comment below!
