If you haven't worn overalls since the 1990s, now is the time to pull them out and wear them again! Overalls are back and better than ever! In my overall series this week, I plan to show you all how to wear overalls with confidence. My look of the day was inspired by one of my favorite Instagram fashion bloggers, whose IG handle is @colormecourtney! I started with a pair of denim overalls that I purchased from Target for $8.99. I usually gravitate to darker denim, but it appears that light and medium wash denim is on the rise for the spring. What I love about these overalls is that they are slightly distressed without being completely ripped in the knee. Afterall, you can't create a boho '70s look with ripped denim. I added a striped, 3/4 sleeve, black and white top underneath the overalls to best recreate the look by @colormecourtney. I purchased this shirt from Love Culture with an employee discount from when I worked there a few years back. Though I do not remember the exact price, I imagine it was under $5.00 because it's just a basic shirt. My shirt isn't meant to be off the shoulder, and is just a wide scoop neck shirt, but we'll keep that between you and me. To add The Mod Little Melanin's touch to the outfit, I decided to add my oversized fedora, that I purchased from Forever 21. I also included a tattoo choker, large silver hoop earrings and several rings to pull the look together. My shoes a tennis shoe style, lace up, dress shoe that I purchased from Forever 21 a few years back. Here's the final look! I love when I find looks from my favorite IG fashion bloggers that can easily be recreated with pieces in my closet. Not only does it allow me to experiment with the pieces in my closet, it allows me to save money and prevents me from going shopping!
