Do you ever scroll through your camera roll and find looks or pictures that never made Instagram? That's exactly how this post originated! While this look has graced the gram before, I recently discovered several other photos that are too gorgeous to not grace the gram! Since I've blogged this look before, I won't go into too much detail about each piece, but will still provide a thorough rundown of the look. The eye capturing piece of this look was definitely the maxi skirt. I'm currently not a fan of a maxi skirt (remember, this post is from a year ago) however, with the proper pieces, a maxi skirt can go from drab to fab! Off-the-shoulder shirts and one-shoulder tops are my go-to style this summer. I have them in just about every pattern, style and color. This one shoulder top from Old Navy was the perfect addition to pair with a maxi skirt. It's loose and flowy, but was still a bit long for my preferred top, leading me to tie it into a subtle crop top. In my opinion, both off-the-shoulder and one-shoulder tops look best as a cropped top.
But what do you do if you want to rock the trend, but aren't feeling as confident? My solution is to always pair a cropped top with a high-waisted bottom. It minimizes the amount of stomach you show, and high-waisted pieces tend to be flattering on all body types. Wear your cropped top with confidence and your confidence with be showcased to others, and perhaps even increase their confidence! No one's tummy is completely flat, and yours doesn't have to be either to show off your midriff! Always keep your confidence on display! Chelsea Nicole, The Mod Little Melanin
