Here's a fun look that's a play on primary colors. Continue reading below for outfit details and styling tips. When colorblocking an outfit, it is important to find complimentary colors. Complimentary colors don't always refer to matching colors, but instead colors that typically pair well together. For this look, I am wearing a pair of navy blue culottes from Old Navy that I purchased on clearance for .97 cents! As I've said before, Old Navy has amazing clearance finds if you look hard enough. I always buy for the next season while shopping clearance. For example, during Winter I shop for Summer, and during Summer I shop for Winter. To complete the colorblocking look, I paired the navy blue culottes with a gold, flowy sweater from H&M. I have a love/hate relationship with this sweater. It's well loved, and well worn, but unfortunately has stretched well out of shape. I normally layer it, to hide it's stretched out look, but for this look I wanted to showcase a comfy look. Now as a reminder, fashion should never be comfortable. In fact, my pet peeve is when people say they like one of my articles of clothing because it looks comfy, and they could "sleep in it." To counter the "comfy" look, I added a pair of navy blue booties from Target, and completed the look with a burgundy bolo choker from Forever 21. I normally don't recommend chokers from Forever 21, as they tend to not last past one wear, however this necklace has proven the test of time as I've had it for nearly a year. You can't go wrong with a bolo choker from Forever 21. What colors are complimentary? Purple and Green. Yellow and Blue. Red and Pink. Orange and Purple. Orange and Blue. Orange and Yellow and the classic black and white, just to name a few.
