The Mod Little Melanin is back! I hope you all missed me as much as I missed my readers! You may notice a few changes to the site. I've changed the site layout, and renamed a few pages, but all of your favorite content from the original site is still available! For now, Med School Monday is hidden on The Mod Little Melanin until September, when I plan to relaunch the site to help students prepare for an upcoming year of being a successful pre-med student. Most importantly, I own my domain name! But don't worry, Themodlittlemelanin.weebly.com will always redirect to Themodlittlemelanin.com if you forget. Now onto the part of The Mod Little Melanin everyone has been missing, the fashion!

While visiting the local art museum in my city, I decided to style my look as "creative" and "artistic" as possible. The look I developed involves fringe and fishnet, two popular pieces that are trending this season. I was lucky enough to find the tan, fishnet top with fringe trim that I am wearing for only $8.00 last season on Missguided.com.

To keep the look trendy and fun, I add a chambray, gaucho-style pant that I purchased last season from Burlington. Gauchos can be hard to style, and while knit gauchos are not coming back in style anytime soon, twill and chambray guachos are the perfect pant to add to your late summer wardrobe. If you're unsure of how to style your gaucho, pair them with a white crop top or tee shirt, add a colorful kimono and a pair of summer wedges for an easy look that's perfect for just about any occasion.

Rather than adding traditional wedges to this look, I choose to wear a gold metallic, Birkenstock-style shoe that I purchased from Target a few years ago. While I'm sure Birkenstocks are an incredibly comfortable shoe, this pair of dupes was perfect for a long day of art admiration.

I kept my accessories for this look to a minimum, and only included a pair of wooden earrings, that I purchased from the beauty supply store. I wanted to be sure the focal point of the entire outfit remained the crop top, and including a necklace would have caused the look to become cluttered.

Be on the lookout for a new piece on Wednesday! Happy Monday!
