Need a quick and easy outfit for Friday Eve? Look no further than The Mod Little Melanin! A jumpsuit is always my go to outfit when I'm unsure of what to wear! I found this jumpsuit at Old Navy a few years back for less than $5.00. This khaki jumpsuit can be worn in a variety of ways. In the summer, I roll up the sleeves and wear it alone. While in the winter, I tend to pair it with a faux fur vest. For this look, I choose to wear the jumpsuit alone and cuff the pants to allow them to best pair with my shoes. My shoes are a find from Target, and are a gorgeous burgundy color! I finished off the look with a coordinating burgundy purse from Charming Charlie.

Two popular trends this season are fringe jeans and novelty jean jackets! While both are a simple DIY (that I'll be showing soon on The Mod Little Melanin) I purchased my jean jacket from Forever 21 at the end of winter last season, and found my fringe jeans from Gabe's (a local store similar to Ross and TJ Maxx). \n \nFor this look, I layered a velvet graphic tee underneath, purchased from Charlotte Russe. Contrary to popular belief, velvet can actually be worn year-round when styled properly. To see some of my summer velvet looks, scroll through my June - July 2016/2017 archives located at the bottom of the screen. This novelty, light pink, jean jacket was purchased from Forever 21 for less than $10.00. Though the detail does not effectively show in the pictures, it features silver screen print stars and writing. The crop cut of this jacket would look best paired with a pair of high-waisted jean. Be on the lookout to see other ways to style this jacket on The Mod Little Melanin. While I love these jeans, I wish they were high waisted and had a bit of stretch in them to provide a better fit. High-waisted jeans are a staple in my closet, and look best when paired with bodysuits and turtlenecks in the winter. My go-to outfit in the winter are a pair of high-waisted jeans, a solid turtleneck/bodysuit, a faux fur vest and a pair of over - the - knee boots. Stay tuned for an all-new post on The Mod Little Melanin, Wednesday!
- Chelsea Nicole, The Mod Little Melanin Summer may be over, but I still have one more look to post on The Mod Little Melanin before the temperature officially drops below 40 degrees for the season! \n \nI found this romper at Wet Seal for only $3 before they closed a year ago! While it's more of a spring romper because of the flower print, I choose to wear it in early October (I live near the beach and it can be nearly 80 degrees until December). I paired my romper with a pair of floral heels I purchased from Charlotte Russe for only $3.00. I wore my romper look for a night out with my boyfriend, but this look is also great for a dinner date or a night out with the girl's!
- Chelsea Nicole, The Mod Little Melanin As pumpkin patch season comes to an end, and the need pumpkin spice lattes draw to a close, here's a look that's perfect for one final weekend at the pumpkin patch! No pumpkin patch trip would be complete without the perfect color for Autumn; orange! My orange button down skirt is a find from Wet Seal before they closed their doors forever! It's a little large in the waist, which is why I always choose to layer it with outerwear when styling it. To keep the look classic, I added a buttom-down denim shirt, previously styled on the blog, and layered the entire look with "fur" vest from H&M. I completed the look with a pair of tan knee high socks and a pair of chunky boots from Gabe's that I purchased for only $8.00! If you have a Gabe's in your area, I highly recommend shopping there! The prices are better than any other discount store, and you're getting department store brands for only a fraction of the price!
