Expect a new post on The Mod Little Melanin everyday until April 15th, the first day of Coachella! Welcome to the first day of a two week long Coachella inspired series of non-stop festival looks! Whether you're attending Coachella, or not (like me), I hope my posts unleash you're inner free spirit hippie! Expect a new post on The Mod Little Melanin everyday until April 15th, the first day of Coachella! Remember my Festival Daze style set featured in Styled by Mod? I've found affordable similar pieces for you to recreate the look yourself! ShortsMy style set featured tulle-like, flowly, flower embroidered shorts, which were around $1000. Yikes! Instead, I have found a pair of faux leather, floral embroidered short from Forever 21 for only $24.90! Faux leather is an excellent piece for your wardrobe, and can be versitile if you style the texture properly. If you're looking to dress down from the over the top look you're about to divulge into, add a simple white tank and tie it up slightly. Add a large boho-esque hat and gladiator sandals or combat boots. Crop TopRule number one when attending any music festival, mix and match everything! Take your outfit to infinity and beyond by adding varying patterns, prints and textures. To stay with the floral theme of the style set, I found this gorgeous Fringed Floral Cropped Cami from Forever 21 that just screams music festival! Not only does it showcase a floral pattern that contrasts with the floral shorts, it also features fringe, a hot trend for this Spring/Summer season. The fringe also works great to camouflage any problem areas if you're uncomfortable with a crop top! OuterwearMy last style dupe is a more expensive piece than I would normally feature, however, it's only a fraction of the price of the vest in my style set. Complete your floral boho look with the In Bloom Kimono Robe from Nasty Gal for $78.00! Find this Kimono Robe at NastyGal.com. If you're really in search of a vest like the one in my style set, I suggest visiting your local thrift store! There, you're sure to come across some great floral finds that will make your outfit complete! Shoes and AccessoriesThe gladiator sandals featured in my Festival Daze style set are from Forever 21, and are the Lace-Up Heeled Sandals that are sold for $39.90. Round eyed sunnies similar to the pair in the style set can be also found at Forever 21. I noticed that some Forever 21's do not sale sunglasses in store (like the one at my house), so I suggest purchasing a pair at Forever21.com. Sunglasses start at only $5.90! Forever 21 is also full of fedoras and floppy hats that are super affordable! I was able to snag a few fedoras from Forever 21 the other day for only $3.99 each! Check your local Forever 21! Forever 21 doesn't sale black faux leather fanny packs similar to the Chloe bag in my style set, but Nasty Gal had a few if you don't mind paying the price! A fanny pack is another great item to search for at your local thrift store! When picking your outfit for a music festival, remember to stay true to you! Don't pick anything you wouldn't be comfortable wearing, but don't be afraid to step outside of the box!
