It's Festival Season! Coachella kicks off this weekend in Indio, CA, and what better way to kick off Festival Season on The Mod Little Melanin than with a few Coachella inspired looks! All this week and next week, I'll be showing you some of my favorite Coachella inspired looks that are perfect for whatever music festival you may be attending this season! Continue reading below for outfit details! The key to styling a Coachella inspired piece is adding that particular "wow factor" that will make your outfit both memorable and creative. For this look, my key focal piece was my longline maxi dress that I purcahsed from Forever 21, last year. This dress actually buttons down the front, and has a corset-style tie feature in back of the dress. While I'm sure this dress would look lovely worn buttoned closed, I always style it as a longline jacket, and add colorful pieces underneath.  For this look, I decided to play around with both patterns and textures. Underneath my maxi dress, I layered a velvet "pumpkin" orange bodycon dress from Missguided. This dress features a high neckline, and stops just above the knee. You could easily restyle this dress for a nighttime look by adding a pair of heels, and hoop earrings. I, however, opted to style the dress in a more causal manner and ended up completing the look with a pair of rose gold, platforn tennis shoes from Windsor, and gold earrings.  However, what really makes this look are the sunglasses, a find from Forever 21 last season. Remember, sunglasses can make or break an outfit, and should be treated just like any other accessory! You wouldn't wear a pair of club hoops to church now would you?
