It's the final day of Girls Night Out/Date Night Looks on The Mod Little Melanin! Today's look is my take on what I would wear to a dinner date or dinner party. I love to mix metallic pieces together, and this look completely expresses that! I started with a silver metallic crop top from H&M. I purchased this top during the holiday season last year for only $4.95. I've worn in on The Mod Little Melanin before in one of my first posts when I went to Tech N9ne's concert. It's definitely a versitile top and can be layered underneath a jacket, sweater or faux fur in the winter or worn alone in the summer. I added a metallic skirt from Forever 21 to complete the outfit. While both metallic pieces are not of the same fabric, they are both from the same color family, which allows the look to perfectly blend together. This skirt was given to me as a Christmas gift, but retailed for $19.90. I have a similar metallic midi skirt that I purchased from Oldnavy that could also work for this look. However, I felt that a metallic maxi skirt better dressed up the look and gave it a fancier touch for an upscale dinner date. To dress down this skirt, I often wear it with a cropped graphic tee and a pair of sneakers for a street style look. My accessories for this look are gold. Never be afraid to mix gold and silver jewelry together! With metallic pieces, you want to choose a statement necklace that will stand out from the top. The best way to do so is to choose a necklace that is the opposite color of your metallic top, i.e. gold top, silver necklace and vice versa. My necklace is from Walmart and was only $1.00. My earrings were purchased a few years ago at Jcpenny. A gold glitter purse was the perfect handbag for this look. This purse is from Claire's and was on sale for $2.00. It even combines gold and silver together. I completed the look with a pair of silver, pointed toe pumps from Charlotte Russe. A fuchsia lip would look best with this look, along with simple eye makeup to not take away from the outfit. I recommend a tan, brown or bronze eyeshadow, light eyeliner and mascara.
