Dress Like A Celeb: North West

Dress Like a Celeb has been a series I've done on The Mod Little Melanin, for quite some time now. Previously, I've shown where you could find affordable versions of your favorite celebrity's clothing. I'll still be adding to the Dress Like a Celeb series on The Mod Little Melanin, but will now showing you how you can pull pieces already in your closet to do the same!

Today's Dress Like a Celeb isn't actually a celebrity, but rather the "baller baby" (term coined by Baller Alert) of Kim Kardashian-West and Kanye West. North West, is possibly the most fashionable three year old around. She was the first to have a pair of kid yeezys, regularly rocks fur coats, and has the athleisure trend down to a tee.

To copy North's look, I wore my red plaid, spaghetti strapped dress from Shoppriceless.com, that I paid $3.70 for. While it's not velvet like North's, and I of course own a velvet spaghetti strap dress, it does the trick and is the perfect substitute for her dress. According to Kim, most of North's clothes are handmade (would we expect anything less if you're the child of Kanye) and North selects all of the fabrics for her clothing. While North is wearing a band tee underneath her dress, I opted for a simple black cropped, cap sleeve tee that I purchased for $1.00 at Walmart (the best place to find affordable basics). If you're doing the math, my total outfit so far is less than $5.00.

North is wearing kid sized Yeezy Boost 350 shoes in black. I cannot yet afford Yeezys (I'm still years away from recieving that doctor's salary) but I down own a similar version of Yeezys"dupes" because we all have to fake it until we make it, and I'd rather save my money for doing things that I enjoy over trying to label stunt to fit in with the crowd. Instead, I paired my look with a pair of pointed toe, lace up flats from Ego.co.uk that were about $7.00 (not shown) and added a velvet choker from Forever21.com.

The cost of this total look? About $16.00. The cost of dressing like North? Priceless.
