Best Dressed at The MET Gala

The MET Gala is an annual fundraising event that benefits the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute that is located in NYC. Each year, the gala marks the opening night of the of the Costume Institute's annual fashion exhibit, with a specific theme being given to both the event and the exhibit each year. This year's theme was Manus x Machina: Fashion in the Age of Technology. As you can imagine, the popular color of the night, was silver.

Poppy Devevingne

By far one of my favorite looks of the night! Poppy stunned the red carpet in this gorgeous semi-sheer metallic gown with beaded fringe from the Design House of Marchesa. The intricate detailing throughout the dress heavily reflected the theme.

Jourdan Dunn

Jourdan kept viewers waiting and wondering for her to show off her gorgeous gown, as she only posted a back view on her Instagram account, @officialjdunn. She's apart of the Balmain gang, along with several other stunning gowns that made my best dressed list. Balmain is a haute couture fashion house that is currently ran by Head Designer and friend of the Kardashians, Oliver Rousteing. This fashion genius is only 29 years old.

Rita Ora (aka Becky with the good hair)

Rita Ora has been in the news lately, and it's unfortunately not because of her music. She's been accused by Beyoncé's Beyhive of being the "Becky with the good hair" that Beyoncé refers to in my favorite song off of Lemonade titled "Sorry." Her dress of the night absolutely gorgeous, however, and has placed her back in the public eye for all the right reasons. Rita is wearing Vera Wang.

Ciara

Ciara has been serving lately since her engagement to NFL Star, Russell Wilson. I loved her look from head to toe! Ciara is wearing a sheer lined metallic silver gown designed by H&M. I'm hoping this look will pop up in stores soon, or will be apart of a future H&M high price-point line. Her grey hair completely pulled the look together, though I did not like that her finger waves were held in place with bobby pins rather than gel and water.

Kendall Jenner

I have a love hate relationship with the Kardashian/Jenner clan. I loved the looks from the sisters tonight, however! Kendall always looks flawless in just about everything she wears, especially this Versace gown. This sheer blue gown is completely see through, yikes, but is covered in blue in all the proper places. It also featured a silver train-like cape.

Kylie Jenner

So lately, I've been obsessing over Kylie. I've been purchasing her nail polish, and been trying (unsuccessfully) to purchase one of her lip kits by Kylie Cosmetics. Kylie shocked me a bit with this look. She could be best classified as a tomboy, and is normally always sporting all black. Kylie STUNNED on the red carpet in the Balmain (possibly) diamond encrusted gown. We've seen a similar look on Kylie before, along with some of her sisters, but the gown was still one of the standouts of the night. I might be stating the obvious here, but does anyone else think her makeup is far too dark for her complexion, after all she isn't Armenian like her half-sisters and is the same complexion as her sister Kendall.

Bella Hadid

I loved Bella's Givenchy gown, but it looked as if the gown was wearing her. Joan Smalls, the model on the right, looks much better in the gown. I'm also really tired of The Weeknd wearing the same suit at every photo op. Bella is the baby sister of "Supermodel" Gigi Hadid. I believe she models also.

Kerry Washington

Miss Pope stunned the red carpet at the MET Gala as she revealed that she is expecting her second baby! She looks to be at least four to five months! I'm here for mothers finding fun sophisticated ways to show off their baby bump, rather than the floral couch Mrs. Kardashian-West sported at the MET Gala a few years back. Kerry is wearing Marc Jacobs, and add a few details to create a true rock and roll luck, because who really understood the theme this year anyway!

Kim Kardashian-West

Since marrying Kanye, Kim's fashion choices have significantly diminished. I was pleased to see her in a color that wasn't a nude, khaki or black. She's also apart of Balmain gang! While her dress was stunning, and clearly reflected the theme, we've seen this style dress/skirt a lot from Kim in the past few months. Please don't get me started on those colored contacts of Kanye, those are still not in style before you run off to your eye doctor. Also, if Kim looks like she's aged, it's because they bleached her eyebrows.

Beyoncé

The queen bee! Beyoncé never fails to disappoint at the MET Gala. While her dress was toned down from her choice from last year (Google), I was surprised to see her appear at the event, after all she is on tour. Beyoncé told us that she feels "reckless when [she] rocks [her] Givenchy dress." And she definitely was the talk of the night as she walked the red carpet in her latex embellished Givenchy gown. Although, it does resemble the rough endoplasmic reticulum, for all you biology majors out there.
