My favorite season of the year is just around the corner! Autumn is coming and now is the time to transition your wardrobe to pre-autumn looks to help you manage the changing temperatures of the coming September days. Pre-Autumn looks are super easy to manage within your wardrobe. Simply add a piece of outerwear or swap out your shorts for jeans. My favorite way to transition looks to Autumn is to add knee highs or tights underneath my summer dresses and skirts. For this particular look, I added an oversized denim jean jacket to transition the look into a pre-autumn look. Autumn is the perfect time to incorporate more textures into your wardrobe. These faux leather shorts from Missguided.com can be worn year-round, in the colder months simply pair them with thigh high boots and tights. I purchased these shorts for only $8.00 during Missguided.com's super sale that has been going on all summer. New items are added to the sale daily. I paired these shorts with a fishnet-like, fringed crop top also from Missguided.com, that I purchased for $4.80. When I planned this outfit it was unseasonably chilly for a July night in Kansas, so layering the entire look with an oversized denim jacket was a must. My jacket is actually a vintage find from my dad's closet. It's an early 2000s distressed denim jacket from Oldnavy from their A/W 2004 collection. Early 2000s style has been reappearing in the latest fashion magazines and is predicted to be a popular trend this fall. Now is the time to hit your local resale shops in search of those late 1990s, early 2000s gems. In Autumn, I'll pair this look with my denim perspex booties from Ego.co.uk, but for now I completed the look with my nude lace up gladiator sandals from Shophopes.com. I also added a bronzed collar style choker, stacked rings and button-style bronzed earrings to complete the look.
Trend Alert: Flares are back this Autumn. Add a few to your wardrobe. My favorite place for flares is Oldnavy! They have various denim styles and cuts to give any woman the perfect look in their jeans! - Chelsea Nicole, The Mod Little Melanin 💋

Flowly shorts have been trending all summer, and in the dog days of summer, now is the perfect time to add a pair to tour wardrobe. My floral printed shorts are from Charlotte Russe, and are from last season's summer collection. They were purchased for around $10.00. They're the perfect stand out shorts with their bright, neon colors and floral pattern throughout. What I love most about flowly shorts is that they can be dressed up or down. To dress them up add a crop top (they're high waisted) and a pair of wedge heels. For kicks, add a statement necklace or a floral crown. I choose to dress down the shorts instead with a simple pink tank from JcPenny and added a pair of gold flatform sandals from Target. All of the sandals at Target are now on sale 😊 Rather than pair a statement piece with this look, I choose to add a pair of gold hoop earrings and popped the outfit with a gold glitter clutch purse. Don't forget to add a matching hot pink lip to complete the look! - Chelsea Nicole, The Mod Little Melanin 💋
Remember the dress I styled from my Shop Priceless? Here's another way to style it to fit the sporty chic trend. My KJ Stripe Dress from Shoppriceless.com was purchased for around $3.00. What I hate most about this dress is that it's super short. I'm a little under 5'7" but this dress is made for someone who is barely 5'0" tall, which isn't ideal because the average woman is 5'4". For this reason, I styled this dress with lace black biker leggings from Target. I felt like this instantly gave the look a sporty vibe. To create a sporty chic look, I added my Balenciaga Race Runner dupes from Ego Footwear. Race Runners start at about $600, but I was able to purchase these dupes for $35. The dupes are nearly identical to the original shoe, with the only difference being the real shoe laces up and the dupes are slip ons. To accentuate the sporty look, I added my leather baseball cap from Charming Charlie's and my thick velvet choker from Forever21.com.
