Do you ever dress out of your comfort zone? I mean really dress out of your comfort zone? Like, bright neon colors, or a perhaps a blush pink cupcake dress during the middle of quarantine?
I got some stares when I stepped out of the car on my birthday and walked up to The Cheesecake Factory wearing this dress. I’m sure their stares were consumed with thoughts wondering why in the middle of the day, in the middle of quarantine, I felt the need to wear THIS dress, but I honestly didn’t care. I’ve always dressed outside of the box. Ever since I was a child my wardrobe has been full of tutus and clothing with ruffles. I’ve always loved big bows, the color pink and to stand out from the crowd.

Nude lips have been giving me L-I-F-E lately. In fact, there is nothing I love more than a nude lip paired with groomed brows and lashes. No other make-up is needed if you can pull it off properly. I’m always down to find affordable make-up products for my babes. Today’s make-up products are from Wet and Wild. You’re probably thinking “who on earth still wears Wet and Wild products? We wear Mac and Fenty Beauty now, beloved.” But I promise you, if you don’t have this Wet and Wild lipstick and liner duo in your possession, that you’re missing out! Step one of applying any lip product is to exfoliate your lips! My favorite lip exfoliant is Milani Rose Sugar Lip Scrub/Exfoliant. It’s available for purchase at Ulta for $9.99 and helps to exfoliate dead skin cells, revealing soft and kissable lips. You’ll apply the product to your lips for thirty seconds in a circular motion and then remove the product with a tissue. I use this product daily. Next, you’re going to line your lips with Wet and Wild Perfect Pout Gel Lip Liner in the color Bare to Comment. This lip liner is easy to apply, and goes on smooth. The color is very natural, and adds a rosy hue to your lips. This lip liner is the same color of the lipstick, so it will act as a barrier to help the lipstick stay on the lips only and not bleed over into the skin.
Finally, complete your look by adding Wet and Wild Mega Last High-Shine in the color “Clothes Off.” For my brows and lashes I use two of my favorite Urban Decay products. I’ll be sharing my favorite Urban Decay products next Wednesday on The Mod Little Melanin. #themodlittlemelanin Remember the Bermuda shorts we wore as a kid? You know the plaid ones, with a matching polo? Well honey, Bermuda shorts are back, and these aren’t your mom’s Bermuda shorts!
When I found these cargo Bermuda shorts from Nasty Gal, I knew they needed to become a part of my wardrobe. They’re a light wash short, with a high-waisted fit and all the elements of cargo pants that you love (or maybe hate, who am I to predict your love of cargo pants?) So what’s the best thing about styling your Bermuda pants in 2020? Because they’re high-waisted, you’re able to pair a cute cropped top or a bodysuit with these shorts to make styling effortless and easy. One shoulder tops have been a favorite of mine this summer. Traditionally, they’re reserved for nights out but they can also be appropriately styled for daytime wear as well. I purchased this top from a company, I’m choosing to no longer support for a variety of reasons. However, I have a few one shoulder tops that will be available from @shopthemodlittlemelanin, my stores Instagram boutique this August! Stay Stylish! - Chelsea Nicole, The Mod Little Melanin |
