Sports Lux is a perfect trend to wear this festival season! Most of the time when I'm not shooting a look for The Mod Little Melanin, you can catch me in a sporty look, with just enough of a touch to keep it girly. The key piece to my sports lux look was my orange, longline jacket from Forever 21! It's similar to a jacket worn by Rihanna in 2016, and I instantly fell in love with it as soon as I saw it in store. Being the clearance finder I am, I couldn't pass up on this jacket that was on sale for only $12.99.  Mesh pieces have become incredibly popular in the past year, and are perfect to add to your sports lux collection. I found this mesh, jersey-inspired shirt on clearance at Forever 21 for less than $5.00. It's the perfect piece if you want to wear the mesh trend, but don't wish to expose too much skin.
To add a feminine, yet tough look to my ensemble, I choose to add a fringe, leather skirt I found at H&M last Coachella season. I completed the look by adding a pair of Adidas sneakers, and a my favorite pair of hoop earrings. - Chelsea Nicole, The Mod Little Melanin

Festival outfits are all about creativity! It's the perfect occasion to wear pieces that you would never wear in your everyday life with absolutely no judgement. Add a pair of platform glitter sneakers to keep this look fun, a choker and hoop earrings. Complete this look with space buns, and glitter throughout your hair. Lime Lace Bardot Top and Trousers  Teyana Taylor wore a similar look during weekend one of Coachella. Steal her look for less with this affordable set from Pretty Little Thing! The pants are lined, but top is not so add your favorite lace bralette underneath the top for coverage. Gold Tinsel Trim Playsuit  Rompers are perfect for hot summer days and festival season! This romper has enough glitz and glam to stand out in the desert. At $55 it is a splurge piece, but you're unlikely to find anyone else wearing an outfit like yours! You'll need ripped, boyfriend jeans and a short sleeve cropped top!  Boyfriend jeans are a staple in my wardrobe. This pair of ripped, high-waist, boyfriend jeans have become one of my favorite pieces in my closet! I found these jeans on sale at Rue 21 for less than $10. What I love about Rue 21 jeans is that they offer a "curvy" size for those who don't quite fit in the regular jeans. Their curvy jean line is roomier through the hip, seat and thigh and offers a comfier fit.
Every high-waist jeans needs to the perfect crop! These red velvet cropped top is a clearance find from Forever 21, that I purchased in February during their end-of-season sale. It was on sale for around $5.00 and is the most comfortable cropped top I've worn lately. It can be styled in a variety of ways (be on the lookout for a Coachella inspired look with this cropped top) and deserves to be in your wardrobe. My favorite place to look for cropped tops is Forever 21. They're affordable (most are less than $8.00) and last multiple wears if cared for properly.
