Here's a bonus Coachella look that never made it up on The Mod Little Melanin! Continue reading below for outfit details! This look features some of my favorite boho pieces in some of my favorite colors! (RCJH!) I styled this look around this "faux" denim skater skirt I purchsed from American Apparel for $5.00. While this skirt is super cute, it's super short, and probably better suited for someone who is petite in height. For this reason, I added a pair of black, lace-trimmed biker shorts underneath. To complement the dark denim on bottom, I added a light wash chambray (faux denim) top to the look. I found this top on sale at Burlington Coat Factory for less than $5.00. To pop the look a bit, and keep with the "boho" Coachella vibe, I completed the look by adding a red and navy fringed, paisley print vest from Rue 21. I spiced up the look by adding red leg warmers, also from American Apparel and a pair of navy Keds-style shoes.
To top the look off, I decided to add a pair of "Ozzy Osbourne" style sunnies that can be purchased from Charlotte Russe! Many of their sunglasses are on sale today for $1.99, with free shipping until midnight. - Chelsea Nicole, The Mod Little Melanin 💋

Here's a super easy look to throw together at the last minute if you're attending a music festival this summer. Continue reading below for outfit details. This look is fairly simple to style! I started off by pairing an indigo bodycon dress that I found at H&M for $1.00 during the winter with a longline floral kimono. Unlike most bodycon dresses this dress is actually a decent length if you are over 5"6". H&M has tons of markdowns in store now, as they just had their mid-season sale if you're in need of a few new pieces. I've owned this kimono for years, and likely purchased it at a store like TJ Maxx or Marshalls. If you're in search of a kimono for a decent price, check out Five Below. Believe it or not, Five Below actually sells clothes that last more than a few washes, and could rival the quality and price of stores like Forever 21. I've recently purchased several kimonos from Five Below, that come in a variety of patterns and colors.
I completed the look by adding a pair of white jellies from American Apperal, pearl earrings from a beauty supply store and a wide, teal, velvet choker from Rue21. - Chelsea Nicole, The Mod Little Melanin 💋 Happy Opening Day of Coachella! Here's a boho styled look that is sure to turn heads, and show off you're creativity through your style! This look features your standard boho details. Color, floral print, fringe and a play on texture. I started planning this look based off the floral, trumpet sleeve cropped top that I'm wearing. I was lucky enough to find this crop top on clearance for only $3.99 at Forever 21. It features a v-neckline which I layered a black cami underneath so that the top would look more appealing. The top features a variety of colors, shades of blue and yellow, which gave me the idea to pair a yellow skirt with this top. This crepe skirt is from American Apparel, and was purchased for only $7.50. American Apparel is currently going out of buisness, so if you have a store near you, I highly recommend checking out their sale! To further the boho look, I added a black, suede fringe vest from Forever 21 that I received as a gift a few years ago. This piece is completely versatile and can be worn year-round. In the winter, I typically layer it over a sweater, and in the summer I wear it alone over a tank. My denim, lace-up boots are from Shop Hope's (no longer available) and helped to add to the boho vibe of this look perfectly. They too can be worn year-round, simply layer with tights or knee highs during the winter months. To complete the look I added my usual go-to accessories, a black suede choker and a pair of gold sunglasses, both seen on The Mod Little Melanin before.
If you're lucky enough to attend Coachella this weekend or next weekend, I'm so jealous of you! But I will be joining you in a few years! 😉 - Chelsea Nicole, The Mod Little Melanin 💋 |
