Spring has sprung and I’m so excited to finally bring you fashion as we transition into Spring weather!
When you think of Spring, you probably think of floral print, pastels, lace, and dainty dresses. Well that’s not me, or my style. I absolutely despise floral print. It’s too dainty for my taste. But this dress provided the perfect mix of grunge fashion with a subtle floral print. I even cut the slit a bit higher in the dress to make it more me. While I’ve paired it with red boots, a pair of Doc Martens, and a black corset under bra belt would look just fine with this dress. It probably isn’t your style, so it may not sound appealing but I promise it can be pulled off with ease by me. If you knew me in high school, then you know my style has always been bold. I’ve always lived in Hot Topic. I’ve always preferred chain belts. I’ve always loved tights under shorts. And boots can be worn year round. Nothing about my style has ever changed. It’s just slowly evolved as I’ve grown older.

Are you living for the colorful trend of bold colored boots this Spring?
I love to pair my boots with mini skirts and mini dresses through May, weather permitting of course. One of the things I love about living in the northeast, is that you can absolutely get away with long sleeves and boots well into early May. Just a year and a half ago when I was still living in Virginia Beach, I likely would’ve already been living in bikinis and on the beach already; because there’s no better place to study or work from then sitting ocean side (when it’s not tourist season). But back to these boots and this look. This entire outfit, accessories and all is from @shein_us. I wasn’t a believer in Shein when I first learned about the brand a year ago. In my mind, there was no way a brand could offer good quality clothing for an affordable price. Get rid of the doubts in your mind, this brand has been nothing but hits for me. As promised, I’m currently working on a series of videos reviewing pieces I’ve recently purchased from Shein for Spring. They’ll be up around the first full week of April. xoxo, Chelsea Nicole, The Mod Little Melanin |
